About Our Oak Dining Tables
Our beautiful and bespoke earthy oak dining tables are designed and hand-crafted in-house from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green, Sussex, just a short drive from London and Brighton. Our best-selling, stunning, high-quality oak dining tables are tailored to any shape or size and are guaranteed to add a unique sense of earthy charm and charisma to your home.
We exclusively use gorgeous oak slabs that we source from sustainable woodlands, private estates and National Trust across the UK, we then vacuum kiln dry them in-house to ensure maximum longevity and protection against warping and distortion. We hand pick each wood slab for its unique natural imperfections, such as its knots, cracks, striations and markings. We then infuse these with epoxy resin to create beautiful glassy details. We can also include a series extra special effects such as ‘tree bark preservation’ through our luxury range. For more information regarding our luxury range, please visit our site Earthy Timber, or use our special requests form at the top of the page.
Our earthy, unique oak dining tables are available with a variety of different edging styles, each with their own unique form and irresistible to touch. For a more modern, traditional or contemporary feel we can offer our straight/ square edging style, or for a more rural, rustic, bohemian appeal we can offer our live/ waney/ natural edge style which follows the curvaceous shape of the tree. Alternatively, for a more subtle approach to our live/ waney edging, we can offer our mixed edging which combines elements of both edging styles.
We always recommend using our own leg choices for our tables. Unlike a lot of table legs on the market, our leg options are individually calibrated to ensure maximum stability and support for the exact weight, size and type of construction of your table guaranteeing long lasting results. Our table legs are available in a variety of different shapes and sizes and material, from trapezium shaped raw steel to matching wooden U-shaped to acrylic panels at an additional cost.
Our live edge oak dining tables are suitable for all environments whether it be a rural cottage styled home to a modern contemporary apartment, and with the right finishing choices, our tables can be specially crafted for commercial environments such as bars, pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and office spaces. We offer either a water-based oil treatment which works to protect your unique solid wooden table by penetrating and infusing the timber to create multiple layers of protection. Our oil treatment also enhances the natural tones and textures of the timber. Alternatively, if you wish to retain the original earthy autumnal tones, we can offer our lacquer finishing which rather than penetrate the timber, sits on top acting as a thick shield against damage and corrosion. Natural feel, mat waterproof finish is also available on request.
Our bespoke solid wooden dining tables are available to buy alongside any of our other products, such as our earthy oak benches, live edge oak worktops, kitchen islands, shelving and breakfast bars. If two or more of our solid wooden products are bought together, we can craft them from the same tree to make a unique bespoke set of matching furniture for your home or business.
We estimate that each of our solid wood dining tables will take around one month to complete, this is because we offer a service like no over in that we design, kiln dry and hand craft all under one roof. This time frame ensures that each of our projects are completed to the highest standard. Once your oak table is complete, it will be available for delivery or alternatively collection from our workshop.

We visited your stand at the South of England Show last week and thought your live edge dining tables and coffee tables especially in Oak and English walnut were lovely. Please may I have one of your brochures?
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards

A work of Art
It was some 2 years ago that we decided to open up our kitchen to give us more light and the opportunity to install a large, bespoke kitchen.
The project involved the knocking down of the external kitchen wall and a tired, small conservatory to be replaced by a contemporary glass extension that butted seamlessly onto the previous kitchen space. The result; a large open space with clean lines and light flooding in from the garden.
We had a clear idea of what we wanted to achieve with the space; an area to prepare and cook food without my husband and I bumping into each other, or having to squeeze past each other, somewhere we could sit and relax and have coffee and where we could eat with friends and family.
We chose a handle-less kitchen in muted tones of white and grey but we wanted to soften the almost clinical look by adding texture and points of interest. Our idea was to add a chunky piece of wood as the breakfast bar and to link this into the dining area with a solid wood table.
We were recommended by our kitchen supplier to Anna at Earthy Timber. We had heard some horror stories from friends and associates about wooden breakfast bars warping and swelling and even encouraging woodworm so we were keen to establish how this could be avoided. Anna explained in detail how all their timber, unlike a large proportion of timber on the market, is kiln dried below 10% moisture content to ensure the wood is stable and suitable for internal use. The breakfast bar is a beautiful piece of English oak, sustainably sourced from the National Trust. It is one solid piece and the grain of the wood and the sympathetic resin treatment of the knots and characteristics give the piece a uniqueness and adds interest to the kitchen, while softening the lines of the units and quartz work tops.
We were so thrilled with the worktop that we revisited Anna at Earthy Timber wood yard & workshop when we were looking for our new kitchen table. The glass extension to the kitchen with the by-fold doors to the garden bring the garden into the living area and vice versa and we wanted the table to be elegant but not ostentatious or fussy and to sit well alongside the kitchen and also the garden. In addition, we wanted two benches to match the table in size and look. Anna took us through the wood options and the finishes and also the different legs. Everybody at the workshop was so helpful, not only explaining in detail the results that could be achieved but showing us the workshop and various projects at different design stages to help us in the decision-making process.
The design met all our requirements, not only in terms of our specific requirements on dimensions for both the table and benches, but also in the type of edging and the characteristics of the wood. Anna and the team used just two pieces of natural English oak for the large table, with softened natural edges to add to the integrity of the piece and a hint of blue to the resin infill to tie in with our glass splash -back in the kitchen. The benches are made of the same piece of oak so that they match and have the same natural edges and legs.
The result is beautiful; a piece of art that works so well in the contemporary kitchen and for both formal dining and more informal family get togethers.

I purchase a Oak slab from Timberdeal ( Earthy Timber ) 2m x 1m x 40mm earlier this year to turn it into a dinning room table for my sons wedding present. It is the first time I have done this so had the occasional question for Anna and she couldn’t of been more helpful. I delivered the table last week and my son and fiancé were delighted with the result. The Oak has a natural wavy edge with a beautiful grain form. My son phoned today and said that he keeps going into the dining room and staring at it and brushing his hand over the table surface. I have loved doing this project and working with such a lovely piece of wood….but I’m now pleased I have my workshop back 🙂

Anna and Adam were a delight to deal with. My live edge oak kitchen table and benches have exceed my expectations, they are so beautiful and are a work of art. Anna and Adam delivered the table and installed it in situ, it was also a bonus as they were so lovely and interesting to talk. I can’t recommend highly enough, if I ever need another table I know who I will be going to … Earthy Timber
