About Our Reclaimed Wooden Shelves
Our quirky and unique reclaimed wooden shelving is designed and hand-crafted in-house from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green, Sussex, just a short drive from London or Brighton. Our shelving is an ideal choice to accompany our reclaimed wooden desks, kitchen islands, worktops, tables and breakfast bars. We provide a unique service like no other, we do everything under one roof from designing, to kiln drying through to crafting, with no other third parties involved. We exclusively use remnants of our hardwood slabs that we source from sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK. We then vacuum kiln dry the full stave, wide stave slabs to ensure longevity and maximum stability. We adore the natural imperfections of our timber, so we infuse them with epoxy resin to create unique glassy details like frozen nature.
Whether you’re looking to buy our unique wooden shelving alongside our other solid wooden products or on its own, we can craft your stunning reclaimed wooden shelving to match any of our other products. We can craft our shelving with waney/ live edging for a more rural and rustic appeal, or for a modern contemporary appeal, we can incorporate the more traditional straight edged style. Alternatively, for a combination of both edging styles, we can include our mixed edging.
Our bespoke and unique modern contemporary shelving is ideal for home use whether it be a modern contemporary home in the city or a rural setting in the countryside. With the right finishing, we can make your shelving suitable for commercial places too, whether it be a pub, restaurant, hotel, coffee shop, bar or office space. We provide two main types of finishing, both with their own protective properties, so when choosing your finishing it is important to think about the desired environment and purpose of your solid wooden shelf. We provide a water-based oil finishing which works to protect your surface by penetrating the timber to create multiple layers of protection. Our oil finishing also enhances the natural colourings to create deep shades of autumnal tones. Alternatively, we can offer our lacquer finish which acts as a thick shield against damage and corrosion. Our lacquer finishing is ideal for those wishing to retain the original earthy tones.
Like with all our solid wooden furniture, we ask for a month to design, kiln dry and craft our solid wooden shelving, this is because our process is completely bespoke and unlike no other. This tie frame also enables us to ensure your solid wooden product is finished to the highest quality. Once your unique reclaimed shelf is finished it will then be available for delivery or for collection from our workshop.
