Wood Slab
Earthy Timber wood slabs are cut from salvaged trees grown in the demanding climates of England, Scotland, Wales, and Europe. These trees develop slowly, producing tight, complex grain and natural strength that no exotic wood slabs or imported timber slabs can match. Every wood slab is a single plank not jointed, not pieced together – showing the full character of the tree it came from.
The edges of live edge wood slabs (wany edge wood slabs) follow the original form of the tree, revealing clean, organic lines and distinctive movement in the grain. Because we only work with salvaged timber, each wood slab is rare. No healthy trees are cut for our work.
The preparation of a wood slab at Earthy Timber takes years. The timber is first milled, air-dried, then vacuum kiln dried using patented technology. The process ensures stability through the entire core, not just the surface, and removes hidden moisture and pests. What remains is a wood slab that will serve generations – solid, pure, and alive with texture. Every wood slab is handled in-house from log to finished wood slab surface, allowing full control over quality and finish.
