Case Study: Bespoke Walnut Table Delivered in February 2021
In February 2021, Earthy Timber completed and delivered a bespoke walnut table to a client in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. This project exemplified our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail, highlighting the versatility and beauty of walnut when combined with modern design elements.
The order consisted of two walnut tops with the dimensions 1828 x 1118 x ~40 mm and 762 x 1118 x ~40 mm. Both pieces were meticulously crafted from a walnut slab measuring 2590 x 1118 x ~40 mm. This approach ensured that the grain patterns and rustic features were consistent across both sections, preserving the natural aesthetics of the wood.
Key features of the table included rustic characteristics enhanced with resin, which highlighted and preserved the natural imperfections of the walnut while providing a smooth, durable surface. The resin was also used to create a river effect at the joints, adding a contemporary and artistic touch to the rustic walnut. The edges of the table were kept square, giving the piece a modern and clean finish. Both sections were sanded, polished, and sealed to perfection, ensuring longevity and a flawless appearance.
