Bespoke Live Edge Dining Table in Rustic Walnut

A large live edge dining table handcrafted from two robust, rustic walnut slabs. The solid wood slabs are bookmatched, meaning they originate from the same salvaged tree. This creates an enticing effect, as the organic patterns and variations on the surface of one slab are a natural consequence of the other. Rather than merging the two slabs with a uniform square edge, our artisan chose to follow the organic curves of the wood at the joint, thus mirroring the live edges along the perimeter of the table.

The natural imperfections in the wood have been preserved with dark resin, adding richness while ensuring hygienic use. The table top has been finished with multiple layers of protective varnish to subtly intensify the colours of English walnut, resulting in more vibrant hues of brown, gold, and even silver.

The subtle silver notes gain prominence as the eye is drawn downwards towards the industrial steel legs, which offer an aesthetic contrast to the sleek curves of the solid walnut top through their perpendicular lines and sharp angles. Potent and imposing, the bespoke metal legs do not overpower the wooden top but instead complement its grand dimensions in a contemporary partnership.
